This craft is intended for ages 5 to 12.
It contains small parts that might present a choking hazard.

SUPPLIES:

Large cereal box, pattern pieces, scissors, tissue paper, the more colorful the better, 2 water or soda bottle tops. Several poms, cotton balls, packing peanuts and/or crumpled tissue paper.

Instructions:

1. Cut out pattern pieces.
2. Cut away sides and top of cereal box, leaving the bottom.
3. Fold box, allowing inside of front and back to meet. Fold the bottom in half so the front and back are touching completely.
4. Trace croc head on front and back. Be sure to make them even. Cut out head leaving bottom edge connected.
5. On the front and back, right next to the bottom edge, tape a one inch wide strip of discarded portion of cereal box, long enough to hold thumb on the back (bottom neck) and four fingers on the front (top of head, behind eyes)
6. Cover the inside with red tissue paper for the inside of the mouth. To do this, lay the tissue paper down on the inside, lightly gluing or taping and then trim the excess. Cover the outside in green tissue, leaving the hand strips open toward bottom of box (neck) to put hand in; then trim paper. Add a piece of tissue above the face, at the top of the neck, to cover your hand. You can use discarded, rumpled, tissue from a gift. To make it more fun you can use other colors or patterns like polka-dots or stripes.

7. Cut out the eyelash pattern and trace onto tissue paper. Glue bottle top to face, glue poms inside bottle top. Glue eyelashes around bottle top. Glue paper scraps on face. Glue poms for nose. If you don’t have poms use cotton balls or crumpled tissue paper.
8. Use a discarded piece of the cereal box to cut a tongue, cover with tissue and draw a center line and dots, and tape to inside of mouth.
9. Glue packing peanuts, cotton balls or poms to inside of mouth for teeth.

Put your hand inside slots at the back of the neck, drape the extra tissue over your arm, then open and close the croc’s mouth to make this puppet snap.

Crickey!
That’s one scary croc!
