Comments
For our 2024 Snapshot Day: Spotlighting Volusia County Public Library, we asked “How does the library help you?” We received an overwhelming great response. Here are just some of the comments.
“I absolutely love the library! When I moved here, I was amazed at the Children’s Section – bright, engaging, and stocked full of diverse and colorful picture books. The staff was phenomenal – making excellent recommendations and ordering new books at my request. Now I frequent the young adult and adult’s sections of the library. My reservations are available in 1-2 days. The staff is always helpful, and coming here fills my soul. This library is my happy place! Thank you for what you do!!!”
Sheila, Ormond Beach
“I visit the library daily. It is a vital part of our society, offering information and entertainment. The library is a gateway to our world. It shares ideas, language, culture, and environmental issues. I regularly visit all the branches in Volusia County and when I travel, I make a point of going to libraries in other places. This is where I am proud to have my tax dollars spent.”
Gail
“I LOVE books. Having a wonderful library in my town within walking distance is a huge blessing to me. The staff are like personal friends – very cheerful and helpful. I could go on, but I better stop now??”
Christine, DeLand
“My library is always available to assist me with finding materials. I have been a member for just 4 months. I love coming here. It is like a treasure chest filled with amazing books, exhibits, and helpful people, and the bathrooms are spotless."

Robin, Ormond Beach
“I love to read and if I didn’t have access to the library, I wouldn’t be able to read all the amazing books I do. The library is also the best place for me whenever I feel stressed. I’m able to relax in the quiet, surrounded by my favorite things, books.”
Kristal, Port Orange
“The library helps me with access to programs for my children, and connections that are made with other caregivers. Also, access to the best books and beautiful welcoming safe places for all weather! Thank you all.”
