Here is the Suggested Reading Schedule for A Very Typical Family:

On May 23rd, visit Before the Book in our forum and begin reading.

Section 1: by June 6th, finish reading through Chapter 5.

Section 2: by June 13th, finish reading through Chapter 11.

Section 3: by June 20th, finish reading through Chapter 16.

Section 4: by July 4th, finish reading through Chapter 23.

By July 11th, finish reading the book and join our After the Book forum discussion.

Volusia Reads: Virtual Reading Challenges

Participate in the library’s virtual, seasonal reading challenges throughout the year using Beanstack! Kids, teens, and adults can track their reading and participate in fun activities -earning digital badges and incentives along the way.

Volusia County Public Library Invites All Ages to “Celebrate Summer!” with Reading, Programs, and Prizes

Volusia County, FL – Starting Monday, June 2, Volusia County Public Library is excited to launch its all-ages “Celebrate Summer!” reading initiative at all 14 library branches. The Summer Reading Challenge runs through August 10 and encourages children, teens, and adults to keep reading and stay engaged throughout the summer.

Children (Pre-K–5th grade) and teens (grades 6–12) can earn fun incentives and prizes by reading and participating in library programs. Prize redemption continues through Sunday, August 31.

Adults can also join in the summer fun with hundreds of programs available through Sunday, August 10.

In partnership with Volusia County Human Services, the library will also offer free nutritious breakfasts and lunches to youth ages 18 and under through the Summer BreakSpot program. Meals will be served Monday through Friday at many locations from June 2 through August 8. Visit volusialibrary.libcal.com for participating branches and mealtimes.
